Running away from the brown and black fresh water, till you see a distinct water color change seems to be the way to go. Although Redfish and Mullet are still found occasionally in the dirty water. Running your boat North and South 40 minutes and 50 minutes receptively have been much better. Snook up to 38″, lots of high end slot size Redfish, as well as Trout are plentiful.
