There’s no doubt Redfish are a schooling fish. One of the easiest ways to ensure you get to take that cool double up photo is to be ready. By having a spare rod available rigged with a jig head and soft plastic, or a popping cork with a live or dead shrimp you too can create that double up. When a redfish is hooked, often the other fish in the school will follow him in. As he fights his way in , the fish regurgitates his meal thinking it will free him, adding a chum slick to the excitement. The other redfish will get so fired up from the original fish exciting them, that they will eat anything they see. That’s where that other rod comes in. By throwing a jig or shrimp right behind the hooked up fish you’ll hook one of the other poise fish. Tight lines
