Trolling the crab buoys takes skill but whats down there starring at them is well worth it. Instead of jigging or chumming up an area try trolling. Using big plugs that get down deep can be very effective. In general stone crabbers put there traps on hard bottom often near ledges or drops. These are basically the same areas you would be looking for grouper. Now ,knowing that add a chum bag, in the form of a crab trap every 100 yards where the grouper live. These grouper will hang out around these crab traps knowing that the crabs will sooner or later show up smelling a meal. Often that crab becomes the groupers meal instead. However when a big plug rolls over there head well they might as well eat that too. So try it out and see how it goes for you. Tight lines g
