A major key to finding redfish is certainly finding the mullet schools. There are lots of opportunities for fish to get an easy meal, and mullet do just that for the redfish. Mullet being vegetarians will root around in the weeds and scare up shrimp, crabs and bait fish that the redfish just love. So key in on these schools of mullet feeding on the grass beds and fish the edges of the mullet schools. Pay attention to the different tails you start seeing as most of them will be mullet. As you get better at recognizing the differences you’ll start to realize how symbiotic this relationship really is.
