Scouting your areas or shore lines to find that prize fish is so important. On days when the pressure is high or the fishing is just tough, often I’ll move around on the trolling motor and just look around. As tempting as it may be to stop and throw in a line, quite often its better to just keep tabs on schools of fish rather than catch them. If you employ yourself from time to time to just look around or visit new haunts you’ll find new holes, depressions, current eddies, and other topographic features that perhaps you never noticed before. With knowledge in hand the next time you go out and the stars align to give you that perfect day with perfect conditions. You’ll find out how valuable that scouting really was. Tight lines g
