Well here we are mid February with 80 degree weather the A/C cranking, and water temperatures in the high 70’s soon to be 80. I’m not sure what that furry over sized squirrel was thinking but, I’m calling it Spring. There’s been lots of bait, crabs, minnows, and even the big white pelicans are starting to move North. Fishing for sheephead isn’t one of the only options these days as the snook, trout, pompano, and a few redfish have been available the past two weeks. Large Jacks can be seen moving around at their usual high speed pace both in the back bay creeks and in the channels throughout Estero bay. It won’t be long before the tarpon show up as there’s been a few sightings already just none by me. I’d suggest calling your guide now if you still want a chance of getting out through April as things are filling up as it continues to get better and better. tight lines Capt Greg
