Triple tail will be in full swing come October once all the stone crab traps are dropped from Flamingo to Gasparilla. Even though the majority of the fish you’ll see will only be in the 15″ range, you can find good fish in the 6-10# class on occasion. Often many fish will pile up in a congested area scenario. Paying attention to floating structure, crab traps and markers can get you a bonus in the box.When you come upon a big fish often many others can be found, so put time into those areas. Although a 15″ fish is legal, I don’t recommend keeping them, given the amount of meat you will get from it. Find yourself a 20″ fish and you’ll be eating the perfect size fillet. Tight lines g
