Well we’ve had a lot of cold fronts come through Southwest Florida. Fishing’s been OK in general with a few tough days thrown in there as water temperatures drop below 63. Trout, sheepshead, and pompano are a few of the typical winter time targets we’ve been catching regularly. Overall there hasn’t been a lot of flat calm beautiful days to run around out in the gulf, so most of the days have been spent in the back bays. There’s been a fairly consistent trout bite throughout Estero bay, and the sheepshead continue to get fatter and fatter. We’ve been able to target some nice blackdrum up to 15 pounds in between the cold fronts as well as some nice pompano. The snook are all hiding in packs in their typical Winter haunts. We found about 40 the other afternoon, no luck for us though as they didn’t want to eat. Hoping that we start to warm up a bit so we can get the water temperatures back above 64 degrees soon, as that’ll be when things get real good again. Tight lines Capt Greg Stamper 239-313-1764
